What is Microneedling?
Microneedling may sound like an intimidating treatment, no thanks to that scary word called “needle”, but this treatment can be considered a more successful way to do a facial on people with certain skin concerns.
Simply stated, Microneedling is amazing! If you’ve ever wondered how celebrities keep their skin looking healthy and youthful, Microneedling is part of the answer. The skin is rapidly pierced by tiny “micro” sized needles which forces the skin into healing mode, stimulating collagen production and increasing cell turnover.
What is Microneedling?
We perform Micro-Needling using a state-of-the-art Microneedling device with a disposable tip that has either a cluster of 12 or 36 Microneedles (depending on the area being treated). Each tip has contained sterile needles that pierce the skin at very specific therapeutic depths. The thousands of tiny needle pricks stimulate collagen and elastin production, while also creating receptor sites which easily absorb a variety of available serums. Needling is sometimes referred to as “Collagen Induction”, “Meso Therapy” or “Skin Needling”.
What Can I expect from Microneedling?
Microneedling is a total skin transformation treatment! The results are amazing but not immediate and cumulative. It takes about 4-6 weeks for your skin to show improvement. This treatment is often performed in multiple sessions but most report significant improvements in the first treatment. Skin thickness varies from person to person as does the results.
Afterwards you can expect the skin to be a little pink, and at the very worst, some tiny scabs that fade in a few days. The procedure may feel like a mild sunburn after the numbing cream has stopped working.
Does Microneedling hurt?
People have reported mild discomfort during their Microneedle procedure. We do numb you in effort to make the treatments as comfortable as possible. We have ice packs available should you need it.
Who is a Candidate for Microneedling?
Those with the following skin concerns should consider Microneedling:
- wrinkles
- scar revision (surgical or non-surgical)
- acne scarring
- alopecia (hair growth stimulations)
- skin pigmentation issues
- stretch marks
- loose skin, such as after weight loss or liposuction.
Which areas on the body can be treated?
Microneedling works on any part of the body. Although your Practitioner is Certified in Microneedling, we never go close to the eyes and do not work on the genitals, lymph nodes or throat.
We often do scar revisions and stretch marks on areas like the breasts, legs, chest, and rear end.
